Here at DAS, we love restoring and bringing to market older 4x4 trucks with a modern twist all while keeping the original format of the truck. We feel by staying true to the original design but adding some modern lighting, comfort, suspension, we are creating the best of both worlds. When we got this 1996 Silverado Z71 4x4 in, we knew it was the perfect truck for us to add our DAS touch!!!! This truck was the PERFECT truck to really bring back to life bc the previous owner took amazing care of this truck. We will outline below what DAS will perform. We will strip down this Silverado to metal and started from step one with 2K primer, base coat, and 3 coats of clear coat. Although the body is in great condition we will still perform body work which includes welding in all new lower door panels and corner cabs to years of rust free worry. We will also remove all and any dents and dings. After the first coat of 2k Primer is applied, it will get blocked down for a completely flat layer/surface for a perfect base coat finish. We will also remove the doors and entire bed when we paint it for a complete professional repaint to reach around the cab and door jams. When we paint our vehicles, all handles, locks, trim, panels are removed so there are no tape lines. This is a very time consuming method but the end result speaks for itself. We also painted all the door handles, mirror housings, belt moldings, and more. In addition to the ENTIRE exterior being painted, we spent 4 day wet sanding and buffing the new paint for a perfectly flat top clear coat layer and mirror finish.

WEEK 1:
We started off by removing the factory seats and carpet to fully inspect the floor pans which presented themselves as brand new. While the Carpet was out, we steamed cleaned it along with the factory seats which were in great condition. We also removed and replaced the headliner.
WEEK 2:
This truck came from the factory with a 5.0 V8 and while in good working order it did have 160k miles and some typical leaks. Instead of spending time and money in a 160k less desirable engine, we decided to get a new 5.7 Engine as well as a 5.7 PCM for a full replacement. This engine has a full 3 year warranty. Besides from the engine being new, all attachments, oil pan, valve covers, timing cover, etc are all new !!!!
