DAS Alpha XJ Build....
We are very excited to share with you guys the build process on our Alpha XJ. We currently have 3 Alpha builds lined up in production which 2 are spoken for and are custom builds for each customer. We will update this page weekly with pics, videos, and parts installed.
Week# 1
We completely stripped this XJ down to bare bones inside and out. This XJ is one of the cleanest nicest XJs we have seen. There literally isn't an ounce of rust under this XJ making it the perfect XJ to start the build. The Video and photos below will give you a great visual of this XJ.
Week# 2
After pulling all components out this XJ, we started to Prep the GM 6.0 Aluminum block and head LS Engine and 4L80E Transmission with headers, mounts and more. Check out the triple fan radiator !!!
Week# 4
We just received our custom Axles which are Brand New American-made CORE 44 housings a CCept the latest generation Dana 44 gear design, with a larger diameter ring gear and bigger pinion shaft to withstand hard off-road use. The housings feature forged bearing caps and a unique G-lock adjuster nut system to set backlash and carrier bearing preload. CORE 44 axles use additional ribbing on the cast center section and 3-inch diameter, 5/16-wall DOM axle tubes with forged inner Cs for use with tall, aggressive tires.
All brackets are designed around stock mounting points, and are laser cut and CNC formed from 3/8- inch steel for added strength. We have also gusseted and reinforced any weak points to prevent damage to the brackets and finish the housing in a UV-stable black powdercoat.
The Alpha XJ will have 35 spline axles, 4.10 Gears, and ARB Front and Rear ARB Lockers and 4 Wheel Disc Brakes.
